Here’s a quick updated of sketches made recently.
Loosening up with ink and a little bit of watercolors too. There’s a strong influence of Michael Lentz in those, but for the practice it was interesting.
Although work has been crazy, I had some time to enjoy the studio.
Here is two fast practice I made. You can see the progress.
The black and white one is from a youtube documentary of a war journalist following a group of soldiers during the Kosovo War. At that point, the soldier was explaining that he had spent his life working in that factory, and now his job was to defend it.
The second one is inspired by a drawing I made in a life session several weeks ago. Testing out the colors. Proportions are way off.
So far, people seem to prefer the first step of each. humph!
Ho, and here is a drawing I made at work, while waiting for my computer. It’s the famous shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.
Obviously, the first week isn’t especially entertaining.
In order to have a real fresh start, I decided to whiten everything I had done so far:
the tests, the incompletes, the not good enought or even those I just got tired of looking.
So here you go, dozens of white canvases.
Now all I need is inspiration….
Oh okay, I’ll post something I did two weeks ago in order to keep the interest. I know my dirty studio floor is not so captivating.
Here is my favorites from a live drawing session I went two weeks ago.
